Cold in Co Down
This picture says it all .... too cold to paint ...road conditions only ideal for a 4x4 which I don't have ! Bad decision taken when I gaily purchased a second hand Corsa in the Summer! Still no post by snail mail since last Wednesday.

Exhibitions in Belfast
Check out the Wish you were here! exhibition in the Naughton Gallery in Queen's. All postcards have been donated by the artists and are on sale for £50 each.No names are given on the front of the work it could be a Blackshaw or Shawcross or a Majury as Emma, Sarah and I have donated postcards too! The one shown here is NOT in the exhibition but the only postcard photo I had!
Currently exhibiting .......
Currently in several group exhibitions from now until after Christmas.
Take a trip to the Killinchy area and check out Kilmood Art Club's exhibition at the Tea Rooms at Lisbane it's in the far end of the building but worth the walk! Enjoy some coffee and head for the Crafty Fox where our old Northern Bank has been transformed. We still miss the bank but the visit will give you ideas for presents for your home as well as for others! Lastly head for the Lough.

The Recessionists - the Belfast Show
Wednesday, 22 September 2010
Time flies
There is no doubt about time marching on. I can't believe it is almost the end of September and my target for completed works has not been realised! No change there. Have decided a different tack... fill the frames by finishing /altering paintings I've started and are lying around the studio! This stops me from starting yet another new work. Can't find photo of new/altered painting so thought I'd give this shot in Belfast an airing!

Next crisis
Missed the BPW intake for 'Going Green' so next crisis looming is the RUA intake (in 2 weeks) and one painting has to be ready! Got the frame now so the painting has to fit it! Still working on a painting for the psychologist's coffee area as it also has a deadline! Who said painting was a relaxing hobby?

One day to go
Very little done to day to get painting three on it's way. It's in my head but not yet a painting. Tomorrow will have to be totally devoted to creating painting number three. Saturday is intake day and Sunday is the Black Market. Noon to 5pm in the Black Box Helen and I will be there with some of the groups work. Look forward to seeing you there.!

Four days to go
Tuesday already and I painting completed and 2 more in various stages. Going out today so very little will be done! The still life will be cropped I've made the decision. I've tried it in another vacant frame and well i like it don't know what the selectors will make of it! Why can't I just paint to size?
RUA form to be in on Friday so have donated £15 to their wine fund by entering 1 painting! Last minute decision I have to say but if your not in.........! Emma and Sarah both filling in their forms so it's a family affair. Great discussion as to what is an emerging artist have ticked the box anyway as there is a prize! It's great to live in a fantasy world now and again!

Can't believe it's Friday already ! Help ! Have to have 3 paintings for next Saturday morning framed no pressure there! Can't be any three though that's the worst part. Today the Recessionists meet and bring a finished painting for our show in the Townhouse Gallery. Worked on the layout last night started painting this morning at 8.30am. Who says painting is relaxing hobby?

Almost gave up blogging but I'm back to try again! So here I go......Still trying to paint but been more critical recently so none have been framed. Will try again tomorrow. Here is the current effort which has to be cropped! No change there ugh! Glad it was bigger than the other frame I have. Maybe tomorrow will be different.
